Fam, we've been back at Mont Blanc, back in Chamonix!
Last weekend the Arcteryx Alpine Academy was back in Chamonix for “four days of education, inspiration and connection with a community of like-minded mountain enthusiasts” – that’s what Arcteryx says. Alpine Academy is a 4-days mountain culture festival with culture, music, events but mainly more than 80 so-called clinics in the fields of mountaineering, hiking, trailrunning, climbing but also around photography, upcycling and sustainability. Nicely done! Especially the upcycling class with Nicole McLaughlin catched my eye over the weekend, I have to say: always amazing to see what can be created from apparel and stuff we’d consider trash in the first place. Arcteryc Alpine Academy sounds like fun, no? Well, it definitely was, even the start was a bit bumby as transportation didn’t work out 100% as expected to say the least. Runners Highest have been invited to Alpine Academy to witness the festival, the vibe, the Arcteryx product range but most of all the Mont Blanc and two days of outstanding trail running around the summits.
Here’s what Moritz (aka @fimoritz) from Team Runners Highest has to say about his two-day trail experience at the Alpine Academy:
"Italian trails around Mont Blanc just hit different. Running through Canada-like valleys, always having all these ultra high mountains in sight, just gives you that inner peace you search for when you're going for a trail run. It calms you down even though you're running the steepest uphills on trails so narrow that you sometimes only have space for one foot. Also running through snowfields even is super refreshing when it's crazy warm outside!"
Thanl you Arcteryx for having us - we'll definitely be back at "the academy" but hopefully Runners Highest will return to Chamonix for UTMB next month! Also check out some more pics via Runners Highest on IG!
