Paris-based running label Satisfy has built its reputation on blending technical performance with subcultural style. Known for lightweight shorts, gritty campaign imagery, and collaborations with brands like Norda and Hoka, Satisfy has always walked the line between functionality and fashion. This summer, actually being in their 10th year of existence, they took a bigger leap: launching their first in-house trail running shoe, TheROCKER.
TheROCKER isn’t just a design exercise - it’s loaded with some serious tech. The outsole uses Vibram Megagrip with TuneLug™, a lug pattern inspired by RC cars, to keep traction sharp on mixed terrain. Cushioning comes from Euforia™ Super Foam, a mix of PEBA and EVA that gives the shoe a lively, bouncy ride, more like a road “super shoe” than your typical trail grinder. The upper is cut from Rippy™ 66 Monomesh, a durable yet breathable nylon built to withstand all surfaces you might face on a (long) trail!
TheROCKER is already out in a few colorways (Falcon, Shadow, Antique White), priced around $280 / 260€. Most sizes sold out quickly - a sign of both hype and limited supply - but word is more pairs and possibly new colorways of TheRocker may drop already around UTMB in Chamonix in around 2 weeks. Let's see what Satisfy builds around UTMB this year!
By the way: Antique White is still available in most sizes!
For Satisfy, TheRocker isn’t just about making a shoe. Ok, it's their first so it's definitely something special and they definitely went big with it. It’s about expanding their vision of “running culture” into every layer, from sole to singlet and cap. Whether you’re intrigued by the tech or just drawn to the aesthetic, this shoe marks a new chapter for a brand that’s never been afraid to do things differently.
Luckily, i had the chance to test a pair prior to the release, so i managed to already get 65 kilometers in TheRocker. In all transparency: i chose my usual running size but should've gone for half size bigger. It's tight and although it's loosening a bit after some kilometers, mine could be a little wider in the front.
Grip's perfect, i don't actually know why a round profile, that's inspired by classic RC cars, shouldn't be grippy. It's Vibram, fam!
The shoe feels pretty direct to me and has definitely less cushioning than your usual Hoka but i didn't have any problems with that on the trails. Also, that made me feel like being able to run asphalt with them way better that with other trail shoes.
All in all, it's a pretty fun shoe that i can definitely recommend them.
